According to sources, it was a joint trap operation by police along with child protection officials, caught the accused red-handed during the transaction, where the baby was allegedly being handed over for around Rs 2.5 to 2.6 lakh. The hospital owner and two staff members were arrested on the spot.

Allegedly, authorities in Greater Noida have cancelled the licence of that private hospital in the Bisrakh area after its owner and staff were allegedly caught attempting to sell a newborn baby girl, exposing a suspected child trafficking operation being run under the guise of illegal adoption.
Initial investigations indicate that the newborn was delivered at the same hospital and was being illegally transferred without following due legal procedures mandated under the Juvenile Justice Act. Authorities suspect the involvement of a larger network, and have initiated a detailed probe into hospital records, including past deliveries and patient documentation, to identify any similar instances.
In response to the findings, the district health department sealed the hospital and revoked its licence, citing serious violations of medical ethics and legal norms. Officials have stated that strict action will be taken against any institution found engaging in such illegal activities.Even a case has been registered under relevant provisions related to human trafficking and the Juvenile Justice Act.
