Exciting News for Healthcare in Punjab: Livasa Hospitals Heading to Ludhiana!

Livasa Hospitals is set to transform healthcare in Ludhiana with a new 368-bed multi-speciality tertiary care hospital. With a ₹360 crore investment, the facility will offer advanced treatments across various specialties and become operational in 15-18 months. This expansion addresses bed shortages in Punjab’s largest city and supports Livasa’s goal of reaching 2,000 beds regionally.

A well-known hospital chain in Punjab called Livasa Hospitals has just revealed plans to open a large new multi-speciality hospital in Ludhiana. It’s going to have 368 beds and focus on advanced, specialised care definitely a positive step for people in the area who need top-level treatment without travelling far.

Livasa has been building a strong presence in Punjab since around 2008. They run several modern, accredited hospitals in cities like Mohali, Amritsar, Hoshiarpur, Khanna, and Nawanshahr. Together, these spots offer hundreds of beds, lots of intensive care units, advanced operation theatres, and specialised labs for heart procedures. Their teams handle a wide range of issues from heart problems, cancer care, brain and nerve surgeries, bone and joint treatments, to kidney issues, stomach disorders, and even transplants. Thousands of patients get help from them every year, and they’ve invested heavily in up-to-date equipment and skilled doctors.

What’s Happening in Ludhiana?

The new hospital: 368 beds dedicated to multi-speciality tertiary care, meaning it can manage complex and serious cases across many fields. They’re putting in roughly ₹360 crore (including contributions from the land owner) to make it happen, working together with a development partner called Primewalk Infra Private Limited. The location is smartat Sherpur Chowk right on the national highway so it’ll be easy to reach from Ludhiana and nearby towns.

The building will cover a large area (over 9,900 square yards of land and more than 3.75 lakh square feet of constructed space in some details). Construction is underway, and they aim to start treating patients in about 15–18 months, so sometime in mid-to-late 2027.

This fits into their bigger goal of growing to around 2,000 beds total across the region, making quality healthcare more widespread in Punjab.

Why This Feels Like a Big Deal

Ludhiana is Punjab’s largest city and super important economically, but it hasn’t had enough private hospital beds compared to demand. This new place should ease that pressure, letting more people get quick access to emergency care, specialised surgeries, and ongoing treatments close to home. It could save time, reduce stress for families, and even create more jobs for doctors, nurses, and support staff.

From where I sit in Lucknow, it’s inspiring to see private groups stepping up like this especially when it aligns with efforts to strengthen healthcare everywhere in the north. It might encourage similar developments in other states too!
